Silkworms, the larvae of Silk moth (Bombyx mori) are high protein, low-fat feeder insects that are perfect to add to your reptile's current diet. They are especially recommended for younger reptiles as their high protein makes them an excellent source of nutrition and energy for growing babies! They are also a high source of vitamins B1, B2, and B3.
Each cup of Symton Silkworms will come with at least 20 worms per cup as well as food to allow for their continued growth while in your care. With proper care, they can be long lived and grow to around 2.5 inches in length at maturity. For highest chance of survival, keep their food moist and store them at room temperature. Additionally, you can also supply them with mulberry leaves, their natural diet!

Absolutely Disgusted. Very Disappointed

I've been using Symton for many years, but I'm beyond disappointed with what I received. I ordered 20 but maybe got 5, all dead with molded food. I emailed Symton and asked for a refund, and they didn't even respond back, just gave me a refund, which shows they no longer care.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened as I've ordered hornworms with the same problem. Guess it's time to use a different supplier.

Bad smell

I've never had an issue with Symton before but this time the bugs had a terrible rotten smell. The weather isn't extreme so not sure what happened. Tried contacting support via email two days ago with no reply. If I receive a reply and some help then I'll update my review to 5 stars.

I only found about 6 live silkworms. Although there was a lot of food in the canister, it had clearly become dislodged repeatedly during transit and handling. Many of the silkworms were dead, apparently due to being smashed or severed. I doubt temperature was a factor because I checked the forecast for the shipping route before I ordered. Nothing cooked to death or got too cold. Just not well packaged.

Not worth it.

Only 13 out of 20 arrived alive in one container and 15 out of 20 in the other. A lot were INCREDIBLY tiny which would have been okay if they lived long enough to grow into larger worms. Quite a few more died off after 2 days. Both containers were the same so I feel like that’s likely what happens with all that are ordered.

After ordering some of these little guys for my two White's Tree Frogs, they unfortunately were in transit over the weekend. But they arrived perfectly fine and alive. My frogs absolutely loved them.

Happy with my order

You did a great job on packaging and shipping them properly. Only one lil guy didn't make it but that's to be expected. I don't use them as feeders. I get them cause I truly enjoy watching these amazing lil creatures transform into mouthless moths. Haha! I ordered eggs from a different seller and he mailed them in a regular white envelope with no protection around them and nothing written on outside saying "live worms' or "fragile' so they were all smashed when they arrived. :( I'm glad these ones were well. Thank you! Ill b ordering through again!

Good but many died

Half of the worms had died if I was sent 20, I counted 11 that made it. And now some of them are dying from shedding issues??? Good if you need worms now, but I imagine it will be difficult to start a colony for these guys I have now.

There were too few

The food arrived in good condition but honestly there were too few silkworms, the ones that arrived probably around 15 were very small. Which is fine because they had enough food to grow to size. There were a few dead ones either squished by the food or just dead.

Unfortunate Timing ...

Even with an ice pack, and 2 day travel, the summer is not the time to order these guys. :( The company did make an attempt to replace them, but the second batch arrived also dead from the heat. I'll wait until it cools off before trying to order more.

The products are amazing but...

There can be some improvement with shipping, though I am not one to complain at all. I have a baby beardie to feed, so I really take his feeding seriously. As such the amount of time it took to have my order to delivered was too long about 8 days. I will order again do not get me wrong, high quality products. However, by the time they got to me a few of them about half or maybe less than half were dead (silkworms).

Has lasted my baby bearded dragon over 20 days now; these are his staple, supplemented with other insects and veggies. He has been growing an inch a week and gaining 6-10 grams a week.

Great feeder insect for the price. About 500 for ~20 including shipping, feeds our juvenile bearded dragon for a a few weeks mixing it up with other feeders. Hint: Order the sifter and scooper accessory with your *first* order, it really helps out a lot.

Just got my super fast 1st shipment of 500 large BSFL & I couldn't be more pleased. They were fat & active which had my veiled chameleon & bearded dragon gobbling them up! Ive been ordering from Symton for months now, with an order every week to every 2 weeks. Its heating up now and making it harder to ship these feeders out. I received my order of 1200 bsfl, and unfortunately they were all dead from the heat. I contacted Symton via email, and they immediately shipped out another same day. I got my order fast as always and they were alive. The fact that a company cares about their customers like this goes a long way for me. It wasnt their fault, (temps are different throughout the country) I know this, i didnt gripe, or complain. All i did was let them know, they didnt require me to send them pictures or any questions. They just shipped out another order for me. These guys are great, and their quality of BSFL is spot on. Its my beardie's main staple (with a variety of supers and hornworms) with the exception since he gets tired of them quickly lol. But i know their the best feeder for him so ol' Yondu will have to get over it.
